In our study to determine the best configuration in which to offer this product we determined that most woodworkers want to be just that, woodworkers, and even though they have plenty of confidence in their woodworking and plane tuning skills, most were not willing to take on a metal working project that required the learning of a whole new skill set in order to be able to complete the building of a plane. So we designed a plane kit that allows woodworker to do the part of the project that they are most comfortable,  the woodworking and the tuning.

Our kits consist of an assembled metal plane body, lever cap, plane iron, all necessary hardware, adhesives and a very detailed set of instructions with extensive photo documentation of the process. Infill wood is supplied by customer.
In our quest to make fine infill planes affordable for a larger segment of the woodworking population we offer these kits as yet another alternative for those seeking to attain hand planes of this quality. The 650-55 smoother is the first plane that are we offering in kit form. Participants in our Beta Testing program have found these plane kits easy to complete and the feedback that we have received from the participants have allowed us to refine the instructions and the components offered in these kits.
